A mischievous fella

The body mechanics involved in the swinging motion required extensive use of reference material, including footage from the Planet of the Apes franchise.

What interested me the most, however, was giving personality to the protagonist, portraying the mischievous nature often associated with monkeys. This involved using animation principles that are sometimes overlooked in hyperreal creatures, such as squash and stretch and exaggeration.

Although I still consider this piece a work in progress, I believe the character’s charisma already helps it stand out from the other creatures I have worked on so far.
