Br-00m Bot
Supervised by the talented animators at Blue Zoo Animation Studio, the brief challenged us to create a humorous 20-second story featuring a clumsy robot on a space station.

I received valuable feedback during the storyboarding phase from our mentors Steve Kimbrey and Damon Winterburn. This helped shape both the narrative and my approach to filming reference footage.
Capturing the robotās personality and charm was essential to making the animation entertaining.

A zany style
Blue Zoo provided stylistic references such as Hotel Transylvania and Looney Tunes, both known for their zany, high-energy animation.
These influences introduced me to a dynamic style characterized by rubber-hose limbs, exaggerated squash and stretch, and rapid, snappy movements, all of which I aimed to incorporate into my own animation.

Growing as an animator!
Br-00m Bot was easily one of my favourite university assignments. The feedback I received from Blue Zoo proved invaluable, offering insights that deepened my understanding of cartoony animation. It not only helped me grow as an animator but also guided me in creating a piece Iām particularly proud of.
